I was very excited to create my project today.  I used the new Heartfelt Creations "Cut Mat Create" Collection to decorate a gift box.  I loved using one of my all time favorite Heartfelt Creations flower sets and matching dies.  Some of the Paper Collection from this new collection includes the Posy Patch flowers.  I love that we can still use some of those first stamp sets and dies to coordinate with the newest designer paper collections.

To decorate the top of the box,  I stamped a variety of the smaller Posy Patch flowers using gray ink then used the matching Posy Patch dies to cut them out.  The edges of the flowers were sponged with light blue ink to match the flowers in the design paper.  To cover the top of the box I cut a piece of the Heartfelt Creations design paper to fit, then attached one of the 6x6" card panels from the Cut Mat Create Paper Collection in the center.  I added the butterflies using a stamp from the "Birds and Blooms PreCut Set".  The birthday sentiment is a stamp in the "Summer Glory PreCut Set".  Under the bow, I added one of the tags from the Cut Mat Create Paper Collection.

The sides of the box were covered with Heartfelt Creations design paper.  I used two dies from the Cut Mat Design dies to create a frame for the pretty flower with swirls.  This flower is one of the dies in the Cut Mat Create 1A die set.  The flower and leaves were colored and shaped before attaching to the frame.  Above and below the die cut flower, I added the pretty stamped border from the "Vines and Blooms PreCut Set".

On the front of the box, I added the black lace border from the Cut Mat Create Paper Collection, which is a flap to open the box.  On the bottom portion of the box, I die cut another Cut Mat Design Frame and added another tag from the Paper Collection.

Thank You

Today I have a pretty Thank You card for you created with the Heartfelt Creations Cut Mat Create Collection.  I used a panel from this new design paper collection and attached it to another solid piece of design paper, also from this collection.  The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Creations Summer Glory PreCut Set.  There are so many beautiful card fronts in this new collection for very quick and easy cards.

Tomorrow I will be joining in on the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop.  I hope you will come back to see my project.

Happy Birthday

I am a little late in posting this card.  We had one of the worst storms I have ever seen come through our area.  All of our town has been out of power and some people still don't have power. The rain/wind storm was so strong that it blew down hundred of trees, power lines, fences, and took off shingles.  We were worried our food would go bad but our power is back on and I think it was all OK.  I stopped by the grocery store in Spokane and they told me they were selling more dry ice, than they were groceries, because people are trying to save their cold/frozen food.

This is another card I created with the new Heartfelt Creations Cut Mat Create Collection.  I love the 6x6 panels in the Paper Collection for quick and easy cards.  I used one of the same flowers I created with the Delicate Asters stamps and matching dies. To add some shimmer, I brushed the base of the petals with Violet Metallic 3D Paint.  The Metallic paint is so pretty with the micro beads added to the center of the flower. The sentiment is from the Summer Song PreCut Set. It was stamped on one of the Cut Mat Create die cuts and attached with dimensional glue dots.  Pearls and a bow were added to complete this card.

Heartfelt Creations is offering the entire Cut Mat Creation Collection for a $40 savings if you purchase the "I Want It All" collection.

Heartfelt Creations Cut Mat Create Collection

Every time a Heartfelt Creations new release comes out, I think that it is the best collection yet.  I guess I have to say I love them all.  The July release is the "Cut Mat Create Collection".  I started working with these beautiful stamps, dies and this gorgeous Design Paper Collection and found it hard to stop.  One of the things I love about the Heartfelt Creations paper collection, is that there are literally hundreds of beautiful cards/projects you can create without spending a lot of time if you need a quick and easy card or layout.  Of course, I love to coordinate the matching stamps and dies to dress up my cards/projects to make them special.

For this card I used one of the 6x6 inch card fronts from the design paper.  With the Cut Mat Design dies, you can cut out that center panel to pop it up on dimensionals.  I created dimensional flowers with the Delicate Asters stamps and Delicate Asters Dies. Today on the Heartfelt Creations Blog, Emma Lou has a new video showing how to create perfect little Aster buds.  You can see this video at this LINK. The flowers I created were stamped using gray ink and sponged with purple ink.  I added purple micro beads to the center of each flower.  They were attached with pop dots.   I used the Vines and Blooms PreCut Set to stamp the bird on the branch then fussy cut it to add at the top of the frame.  Part of the branch was cut off.  The bird and branch were colored with Copic markers.

This new Cut Mat Create collection has a great variety of sentiments.  I used the Sympathy stamp from the Birds and Bloom PreCut set.  The Heartfelt Creations panel was attached to a 6x6 inch card.  Around the edge of the frame I added pearls.

I will be posting the other cards I created with this collection throughout the week.  I also worked a a special project, using this collection, that I will post next week when we do the Alumni Design Team Blog Hop.  I hope you will be back to check them out!

Be sure to check out this new collection from Heartfelt Creations; I am sure you will love it as much as I do.   Go over the the Heartfelt Creations Blog for a lot of inspiration from the Design Team.

A Little Time for Golf

We recently returned from a wonderful trip with our son to the St. Eugene Resort in Cranbrook, Canada.  While there, one of the things we did was to spend several days golfing -- I only drove the golf cart and watched my husband, son and grandson golf.  The Resort is located in a breathtaking location in front of the gorgeous Fisher Peak and the Rocky Mountain Range and has a beautiful golf course where we saw a lot of wildlife, closeup,  including a Doe with her fawn.  Here is a picture of my husband in front of the Resort.  This trip was a belated Father's Day gift, which I got to enjoy too!  Here is a picture of the Resort where we stayed.

My husband asked me to design a thank you card to send to our son.  I used the Memory Box, Golf Club Landscape and Mini Golf Cart dies to create a golfing scene.  Along with the Golf Club Landscape, I also used the Memory Box Country Landscape die to create a series of hills in the landscape.  The additional trees were die cut using the Impression Obsession, Fir Trees dies.  For the sky, I stamped the Impression Obsession, Clouds, Cover A Card background stamp.  I used Stormy Sky Distress Ink for the sky.

Tomorrow I will have a card created with the new Heartfelt Creations "Cut Mat Create Collection.  Hope you will come back to see this beautiful collection.

In the Garden of Life

I have been on vacation and it was nice to get back to creating again.  Today I have a birthday card I designed for my friend Pat.  She loves birds so I designed this card using the Impression Obsession "Bird on Branch" die.  The small birds are the Marianne Design Birds (LR0206) dies (which is an older die set).  The birds and leaves were colored using the new Susan's Garden Pan Pastels. The doily used is the new Marianne Design (LR0317) die.  The Sentiment is from the "Garden Phrase Set" by Rubbernecker.  The flowers were created with the Susan's Garden Mini Daisy dies.  The flowers were shaped using the Susan's Garden Flower Tool Kit.  In the center I added some Yellow Flower Soft.

Have a nice weekend.

Vintage Floret Tutorial

Today I am using the Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret die to create a pretty vintage flower.  Back in March 2013 I posted a tutorial on how to create a red poppy with "wrinkled" petals but I had another request for this technique so have a new tutorial below.  Before doing the tutorial for this pretty Vintage Floret, I want to let you know how I created the background.  I used the Cuttlebug, Anna Griffin, Eyelet Strip embossing folders.  In this package you get one 5x7" folder plus one 1x7" embossing border.  The leaves were created with the Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf Die.

TUTORIAL

In this picture you can see the Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret dies I used to die cut the petals. There are also matching stamp sets for this flower (links below). To create the delicate color on these flowers, I die cut the petals using white card stock.   In the center of each flower I sponged on Scattered Straw  Distress Ink and on the edges of the petals Spun Sugar Distress Ink

In order to blend out the sponged on color and to help shape the flowers, I spritzed the petals with water using a fine mist.  I am working on my Teflon Craft Mat.

Let the petals sit for about a minute to absorb the water. Next use a round tool (I am using a tool from the first Susan Tierney-Cockburn's Flower Tool Kit) to wrap the petal around, then using your thumb and forefinger, pinch the petal down to create "wrinkles".  Do this to each petal.

While the flower is still damp, use a stylus to press down in the center to shape (cup) the flower.  I am working on the stylus and shaping mat from the new Susan's Garden Flower Tool Kit.
To assemble the flowers, I glued two of the same size petals together, alternating the petals -- doing this for all the different sizes.  I then glued one size smaller layer inside a one size larger set of petals.  You can layer as many layers as you want, depending on the fullness of the flower you want.  In the top of the picture, I added three layers.  In the lower flower, I just added two layers.  The completed flower is on the right in the picture.  For the center of the flower, I glued in some yellow Flower Soft.

For the leaves, I used the Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf Die.  I did not use the stamp sets this time to stamp the leaves since I did not stamp the flowers.  I have the link below for both the stamp sets and the dies for the Vintage Flowers and the Leaves.

The flourishing vine behind the large flower was die cut using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Lace Dies.

I hope this tutorial gives you inspiration for creating yet another different type of flower with your dies.
