Pink Daisy

Today is going to be very busy so I am assembling a card from bits and pieces I have on my desk to make a quick and easy card.  The daisy is from the JustRite "My Garden Set" and is colored with Copic markers.  The leaves are created with a Martha Stewart punch. The JustRite border was cut out with a circle Nestie and each scallop pierced.  The flower was attached with dimensional tape and the leaves tucked under it.  The center of the flower has very small beads added to the center.  To bring out more of the black from the flower, black rhinestones were added to each of the square corners.

I purchase my JustRite stamps from Joan's Gardens

Adele

This is another Sarah Kay card.  The name of this stamp is "Adele enjoying fresh apples".   The image was stamped and colored with a combination of colored pencils and Copic markers. It was cut out with a Nestie and the background was added with chalks before taking it out of the die.   The background paper is from a Martha Stewart pad and has glitter on each of the stripes.  Martha Stewart leaves were added under the flowers.  An apple button was added to complete the card.  This was a quick and easy card to complete.

Isabella with Puppy

I have been having lots of computer problems and finally decided it was time to get a new computer.  I love it but boy is it a lot of work trying to figure out how to use it.  Thank goodness for granddaughters.  Amazing how smart they are when it comes to technical things.

Last week I told you I had ordered a lot of new Sarah Kay stamps from Joan's Gardens and would post some cards using them this week.  This is the first card.  It is called "Isabelle with puppy Coco". The image was colored using Copic markers.  Isn't it cute.  The background paper is from the Basic Grey "Green at Heart" paper pad.  A pretty silk ribbon was used for the bow.  A green QuickKutz flourish was added under the flowers and leaves.  Three rhinestones were added to complete the card.

Items used in this project can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

I appreciate you visiting my blog.  Tomorrow I will have another card, using a different new Sarah Kay stamp, so hope you stop by again.

TMITA/PCC "Lilies"

This week Sue Walsh is the challenge hostess at TMITA/PCC. The design we were asked to use is Nina's "Easter Lilies".   The challenge is to make a card to showcase this beautiful image however you like.

I printed off the image and colored it using Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS.   It was pressed into a VersaMark ink pad then embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  A Nestabilities Label 6 frame was cut out and the design attached with mounting tape.  Pearls were added on each side.  The background was embossed with the QuickKuts Diamond and Dot embossing folder.   Cuttlebug flourish corners were added to complete the card.

There are some great products that will be given to someone who participates in the challenge this week.  You can check it out here.

This is my last post for TMITA/PCC as a design team member.  I have really enjoyed working with Nina and using her digital images, but I have a very busy schedule for the next couple of months so thought it best to resign.  I want to thank Nina for giving me the opportunity to be on her design team.  It has been a lot of fun working with her and all the design team members.  In a few weeks I will be going to Indiana to do a workshop at Joan's Gardens then spending some time in Chicago visiting friends.  While I am in Indiana I am hoping I will get a chance to meet Nina, since she doesn't live very far from where I will be.

Head over to the TMITA/PCC blog and check out all the other projects designed by the design team.   Hope you will participate in this challenge.

Have a great day.

Calendar with Note Paper

I found a cute box for note paper that also had a calendar on it.  You can purchase the  tutorial  from Kim Score here.  I changed my assembly a little from the tutorial. The calendar was printed and cut into individual months to slip into the little frame on the front.  The lid lays down flat to create a closed box.

The butterfly stamps are from the "Enjoy Life" stamp set by Penny Black.  The stamp is like the butterfly in the middle.  I stamped the butterfly five times with VersaMark ink and clear embossed them.  Sponge daubers were used to sponge on three different colors of ink blending them well.  The two "half" butterfiles were created cutting off the left side wing and attaching a second wing over the right side  to make it look like the butterfly is ready to land.

A strip of embossed cardstock was added to the right side and the flowers were added.  A Martha Stewart pansy punch was used to create the border on the top.  The paper used for the box is two sided -- one side a beautiful pearlized color and the back side a darker aqua. Computer paper was cut for the paper inside the box.

This is a little gift I am giving to my daughter.

The Penny Black stamp set and Martha Stewart punches were purchased from Joan's Gardens.

I have had some emails telling me that they were not able to find the boxes or vellum used in the post I made yesterday.  I have talked to Joan and these items will be in her store very soon.  If you are interested in these products, just email her and she will hold these items for you.

Thanks for visiting.

6x6 Box and Webster Pages

Yesterday I told you I would be working with some of the other Webster's Pages products that I just received from Joan's Gardens.  Today I have covered a black box using Webster's  Life's Portrait/Lullaby Baby 6x6 paper Pack.  These paper packs have two sided papers which makes it really easy to coordinate on your project.  The piece used on the top of the box has the pattern from the backside of that page cut out and attached to the side panels.  There are two sheets of each design in the pack.

The top of this box had an opening so I placed the 6x6 paper on top of the lid and traced the opening from the inside so I could cut it out.  A metallic gold pen was used to go around the opening to give it a finished look.  Since I had the gold on the lid, I chose a piece of trim from Webster's Life's Portrait Trims to go around the top edge of the box.  This was attached with Scor-tape.  Butterflies were punched out with a Martha Stewart Punch in textured card stock and attached with a thin line of liquid glue.

The flowers and leaves on the top of the box are some that I made out of vellum.  A small pearl was added to the center of each flower and also on the bottom of the lid.  If you would like to make the flowers, you can follow my tutorial here.  Since this is a 6x6 box, it was easy to insert another sheet of the Webster's pages to the inside bottom of the box.

All products used in this project can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

I plan to use this 6"x6" box for cards I have made for a gift.  It was very easy to create and I love how it turned out.  As I said yesterday, I am loving all the new Webster's products I just purchased from Joan.  She has a lot of new Webster's Pages items I'm sure you will want to check out.

Webster's Pages card

I have a new love -- Webster's Pages.   I just received the most beautiful things from Joan's Garden's made by Webster's Pages.  This is my first card and how quick and easy it was to make, but I believe is so beautiful.  I used a small piece of the blue "Bloomers" on the left side of the card.  These are beautiful roses and are so dimensional, yet  they lay flat when put in an envelope  but will pop right back up.  The package has 5 different colors with 8 roses each.  They are very easy to cut apart so you can use one or all.  I just can't get over how beautiful they are.   The verse on the right side is from a package of Webster's Pages "Fabric Fancies.  These are so easy to use.  I attached the fabric fancies to a piece of card stock cut out with a scalloped Nestie.  It was attached with dimensional tape to the card.  Four small pearls were added to complete the card.  I don't think this card took more than five minutes to make.  I know I will be making many more cards with these beautiful products.  If you would like to see all the beautiful new Webster's Pages products in Joan's store, just click here.

Also, I wanted to tell you that Joan now has all the new Sarah Kay stamps.  You can see them here.  I have placed my order for one of each of these cute stamps, so will be posting  lots of cards to show you how cute they are.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day.

TMITA/PCC Recipe Challenge

It's time for a "recipe" challenge at TMITA/PCC this week.  Kim is our hostess and has asked us to use any acquired PCC image and to follow this recipe:
  •  a 4x4 size card base
  •  1 ribbon
  • 1 single type of embellishment (e.g., brads, buttons, clips, etc.) in ANY quantity (but only 1 type!)
  • 1 stamped/printed sentiment
  •  NO patterned papers

The image I chose this week from Nina Paper Cupcakes store is "Aloha".  Since this is a 4x4 size card,  and we are not to use any patterned papers, I decided to print the image large enough so it covers most of the front of the card. I used Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS to color.  I placed the ribbon at the top and a flower embelishment on the bottom.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out with a Nestie.
This week if you submit a card for this challenge, you will be eligible to win any two digi's from Nina's Paper Cupcakes Store.  All the details are on the TMITA/PCC blog here.

Spring Is Here

A funny thing happened today.  I was sitting in the car, while my husband was talking to a mechanic, and saw "things" flying around.  I thought they must be bees but they looked too small.  They started landing on the windshield.  Guess what they were;  ladybugs flying everywhere.  Needless to say, that is the inspiration for today's card.

The stamps used are from Penny Black.    The flower stamp was colored on the rubber with markers then stamped on Glossy card stock. It was cut out with a deckle Nestie.  The hedgehog was colored with Koh-i-noor pencils and OMS and then cut out.  The grass is cut with a Martha Stewart punch.  The hedgehog was attached with adhesive behind the grass then two ladybug buttons were added at each end.  A black marker was used to draw a border around the edge and three black pearls were added to complete the card.

We had beautiful weather today and with the ladybugs out, Spring must be here finally!

All products, except buttons, were purchased from Joan's Gardens.

Tutorial on Making Punched Vellum Flowers

This card shows flowers stamped from the JustRite stamp set "Plant a Little Love".   The stamps,  punches, and pearls can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.  I have not made very many tutorials so I hope this is helpful.  Warning, there are lots of pictures.

This picture shows the three Martha Stewart punches used for these flowers and leaves.  I used vellum rather than card stock.  I use colored vellum which can be purchased from Joan's Gardens. This vellum comes in a pad and has a variety of colors.  I love every color.   For the flowers you can use two shades of the same color, if you want them two-toned.

Once the flowers and leaves are punched out, use a stylus to create lines to give them more dimension.  I do this on a thick pad such as a mouse pad.  I think it makes a big difference in the appearance of the flowers and leaves.  I also used the stylus to punch down in the center of each flower petal to give it some shape prior to glueing them together.

Start building the flowers by adding a very tiny dot of liquid glue in the center of each flower.

Use a stylus to push down in the center as you build the flowers.  I used three of the large petals, one of the large petals from the punch that has two size petals, and one of the tiny petals.  The stylus used for pushing down in the center of the flowers is  larger so it doesn't poke a hole through the vellum.

This picture shows the flowers once they are glued together.

I added a small flat backed pearl to the center of each flower using tweesers.  To attach the flowers to the card, I used pop dots.  The leaves were added by putting a small amount of the liquid glue to the stem end and placed under the flower.  The flowers on the card today are a little different from the earlier post.  I was trying to create a flatter flower to match the card.  What gives them more dimension is how much you  use the stylus to push the flower down in the black mat.  I also have some smaller flowers made using just the petals from the punch with two flowers on it.    When I made the leaves, after creating the veins on the leaf, I slightly folded it in half to give it some dimension.

I was asked about the lattice I had behind the card I made for the StampTV blog Hop (post under this post), so I thought I would show you how I made it.  I used a 3-inch strip of white card stock and punched down one side.

Next punch down the opposite side.

Use paper cutter and cut off the white strip in the middle right along the edge of the punched area.  Do this on both pieces.

When you place the two pieces together, match up the lattice.  I used used a liquid glue that has a brush on it (Martha Stewart), and placed it on my dp butting the two edges together matching the lattice.  If you look closely, you can see where the cut is in the above picture.

On the card posted today, I overlapped the lattice because I wanted it narrow.  Nice you can make it a size to fit your needs!

I hope I made this tutorial so you understand how I made the flowers and lattice.  Are you going to make these flowers?  If you post them on your blog,  I would appreciate you linking back to my blog.

I would love to read your comments about this post.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

StampTV Blog Hop for "Happy Spring"

I have two posts today.  Please check below for the TMITA/PCC challenge post.

I am joining several other StampTV designers to share  more samples for the Happy Spring stamp set.   I have created two cards for this blog hop.  Be sure to click on the designers links below my cards for lots of  other creative ideas.

I have stamped all the images from the "Happy Spring" stamp set to grow my pretty flowers then created my blooming garden on the left side of the card.  The hat and gloves were stamped on dp then cut out.    I will do a tutorial later this week on how I created the flowers and leaves.

For this card I again stamped the flower pot, hat and gloves from the "Happy Spring" stamp set.  The ribbon on the hat and the gloves were paper pieced.  For the background I stamped Melanie's "Inspiration Mosaic" onto a piece of design paper then added all the elements.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  Hope you will leave me a comment and let me know if you are interested in me posting a tutorial on how to make the pink flowers.

    TMITA/PCC "Merry Wishes"

Time for another TMITA/PCC challenge.  This week Nilla has given us the challenge to use Nina's "Merry Wishes" digi and to use any shades of blue/green/white.  These colors are to be the main theme for your project.

This week I decided to make a gate fold card.  My base card is white with a design paper that has the three required colors in it.  The cute digi image was printed off and colored with Copic markers then cut out with a Labels 4 Nestie.  A larger Labels 4 Nestie was cut out of blue textured cs to frame the image.  A little bit of glitter was added to the balloon and the hat.

A green embossed piece was added to the top panel of this card and the dp added to the bottom.  I wanted something that would cover the opening in the middle so punched a fence and added it so it barely covers that opening when it is closed.  The design was attached to the top panel of the card.  A few rhinestones were added to complete the front.

The second picture shows the inside of the card.  A piece of the dp was put in the middle of the card.  Two more Labels 4 Nesties were cut out.  One was placed on the back of the blue one, which is on the front, because only half of that one showed when the card is open.  The second one was placed in the middle and a Birthday verse was added.  The gifts were stamped on the bottom panel to tie in with the birthday theme.

If you would like to  check out Nina's  store for  more great images, please stop by Paper Cupcakes and check out the new images that just arrived~ you can find them HERE.   Also be sure to go over to the TMITA/PCC blog to see all the designer's great projects this week.  Hope you will join  us in this  challenge.  The winner will get to pick any 2 images of their choice from the Paper Cupcakes store.

    Thank You Goose

Do you have Canadian geese flying by?  They are so noisy but I always love to go out and watch them flying in perfect formation.  The new StampTV kit at Gina K Designs has this beautiful goose in the "Spring Mix" stamp set so I decided to try and make it look like the geese we are seeing every day.

The background paper is from the Basic Grey "Green at Heart" paper pad.  The cs used is "Pure Luxury White" and "Wine  with Everything" from Gina K Designs.  The goose was stamped and colored with  colored pencils then cut out with Labels 9 Nesties.  The background was chalked.  A Martha Stewart punch was used to create the flowers.  Three flowers were punched and layered.  Small black brads were added then  black lines drawn out from the brad.   Ribbons from GKD was added along the bottom border.  The greeting is  also from the Spring Mix stamp set.  It was cut out with a round Nestie and sponged prior to taking it out of the die.  Each scallop was punched.

The new StampTV kit includes  card stock, and brads, eyelets and a double size stamp set.  You can check it out here

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

    Beautiful Gift Cards

I am sorry I have not had time to keep up posting on my blog daily.  Things at home  have been keeping me really busy.  My daughter had surgery last week and this week my granddaughter also had surgery.  It was not originally planned that way but we are all happy both surgeries are over and both doing better.  I'm sure soon I will be able to starting posting  again every day.

Since I have not had time to stamp, I want to show you two  gift cards designed by Joan Fricker.  These are both posted on her blog.  They are just gorgeous and will bring a smile to any one receiving them.

I have a very good friend who celebrated her birthday during this really busy time for me, so I ordered one of these gorgeous gift certificates so she could go shopping at Joan's Gardens. I know she will have fun picking out some new items that are on your stamping Wish List.

If you want to make a stamping friend happy with a gift certificate for stamping supplies, you can be certain Joan will send it in a gorgeous gift card.  You can stroll through all the products  in Joan's store at this link Joan's Gardens

I really appreciate your visit to my blog and I will try and be back again tomorrow.

    Spring Flowers

Tonight I am posting a card made with Gina K's "Spring Mix" StampTV kit stamp set.  The style of card is different than any I have posted.  It is a 5.5 x 4.25 inch card but the front panel was cut off in the middle. I created this card tonight and I apologize for the poor quality of pictures.  The lighting is terrible.    An embossed panel was placed on the top panel of the card with a narrow strip of cs placed on each side of it.  Two large scalloped ovals were cut out with Nesties.  The top piece was cut again with a smaller scallop Nestie to create a frame to place over the bottom piece.  The image was colored on the solid stamp using markers.  Two shades of purple are on the flower.  The image was then sprayed with a fine mist of water to blend the colors then cut out with another Nestie.  The left side of this oval was attached to the card.  On the inside a piece of white card stock was embossed with the Dotted Swiss embossing folder and added.  The verse was stamped then cut out with a slightly smaller scallop oval and attached  below the oval on top.  Liquid pearls were added to complete the card.

    TMITA/PCC "Spring Challenge"

Things have been really busy for me and I haven't had time to do much stamping but it's time for a Spring Challenge over at TMITA/PCC.   This week you can use any acquired image from Nina's Paper Cupcakes store then  celebrate Spring with cards that have 3-D flowers and leaves; they can be Prima, die cut, hand cut, silk, etc.

The image I chose  is "Girl with Flower".  This is one of the new images recently added to Nina's Paper Cupcakes store.  The image was printed then cut out with  one of the Labels 4 Nestabilities.  A second image was printed so I could cut out the flower, with the hands, to attach over the design  with dimensional tape to give it some dimension.  The Sizzix flowers were cut out using two different shades of pink cs and layered with the lighter color on the inside of two darker shades.   They are held together using a yellow SU corduory brad.  A piece of Basic Grey  "Lemonade" dp was used for the background.  A narrow piece of Certainly Celery cs was embossed with the Cuttlebug swirls embossing folder.  A strip of pink ribbon was added to each side.  The flowers  were attached with large glue dots.  A Martha Stewart punch was used for the leaves.  Each one was sponged and placed under the flowers.   Some rhinestones were added to the right side of the card.

I want to welcome Jessica Fitz Henry, from Ireland, as the April Guest Designer for TMITA/PCC.  You can see all the designer's cards with links to their blogs here.  Below is the FREE image that will be given to one of you chosen in a random drawing for playing along in the challenge this week.

    Have a wonderful week.

I have had a lot of you asking about my daughter.  She  is still having lots of pain but is slowly recovering  from her surgery. I'm sure  she is going to be feeling much better in a few days.  Thanks for all your concerns and prayers.
